The Positive Side Of Coffee
Being a coffee lover and in spite of knowing the ill effects of caffeine, I decided to explore the Internet on the good and bad of my all-time favorite beverage, Coffee.
WebMD’s article on ‘Coffee-The New Health Food’ articulates that the regular coffee drinkers are less prone to diseases like Parkinson’s, colon cancer, gallstones and Cirrhosis risk in the liver. Amidst frequently reported ill effects like nervous problems and increasing heart beat rate in coffee addicts, this article reports that the drugs for Parkinson’s and Asthma contain caffeine, the major ingredient of Coffee.
Coffee is reported to contain quinine, a group of antioxidants, which increases insulin sensitivity in humans thereby proving that coffee drinkers are at a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. Coffee is also reported to reduce the depression in children and keep students awake during long hours of study.

I have not read these reports but find them very interesting. It is something that I will apply myself to. I usually drink a decaffeinated coffee to eliminate the effect of caffeine. This being the effect it has on heart rate, etc. I’m not sure I will start drinking caffeinated coffee but I have found the report interesting.
