Hell’s Kitchen Season 2 Show 6

Six players are left on Hell’s Kitchen, Season 2, and few of them have the skills that Chef Ramsay is looking for to run his new Las Vegas restaurant. My money was on Heather, but she started to lose it in the last episode. Red Team lost last time, but Heather who is on the Blue Team, is crying because Rachel’s gone.

Maribel hasn’t show much in the way of skills, but she’s stayed under Ramsay’s “nasty radar”. Arrogant Garrett and Keith think they’ve got it cinched. I hope not. Sara, the backstabbing liar doesn’t deserve it, and I still think she’s hired to be a saboteur.

Chef’s challenge is for the crew to be inspired at the market. Poor Heather’s getting flustered just trying to figure out what to make for dessert, and thus what to buy. Get it together, woman. You’ve got the best chance to win the prize from Hell… ’s Kitchen.

So the teams are presenting their appetizers. Blue Garrett has a roasted corn and shrimp bisque. Chef Ramsay doesn’t like that the shrimp has a tail. Red Sara has a bell pepper soup. It looks good, he says, but it tastes burnt. But he likes Red Virginia’s stuffed chicken breast. He likes the taste of Blue Keith’s entree, but says the vegetables look terrible. He also dislikes Blue Heather’s dessert - too mushy, or some such. Maribel’s dessert’s better. Look’s like Red team won the challenge, which Chef Ramsay confirms, mainly because of Virginia’s chicken.

Hmm. Maybe Heather’s not going to win the restaurant after all. With all of Virginia’s gloating, the Blue boys are pissed, and Garrett’s flipping them the bird as they drive away in a limo. Later, Ramsay takes it personally, as if it was intended for him.

At dinner service later, despite the berating, and their punishment of having to unload several trucks of wine, produce, and ice, the Blue team is breezing through appetizers. Red team is having a hard time. Then a truck horn sounds, and Blue team is expected to leave their service and unload. Now that’s utter crap. I’ve worked in a dozen restaurants and a driver who shows up during evening service would be shot, unless there were extra non-line staff to unload. Ramsay’s really sticking it to them.

But the unloading doesn’t faze Blue team, and Chef’s really ripping into the Red team, particularly Sara’s inconsistent lamb, which customers are returning. So the Red team lost the night, but Sara’s still blaming everyone else. Note: Sara bragged earlier that she made such great lamb at one restaurant that she got fired for being better.

Not surprisingly, despite asking the Red girls to decide who to nominate to leave Hell’s Kitchen, he tells them he’s not going to listen to their decision Who’s he sending home? Probably Sara, who’s just not a team player. Or will it be Maribel, who usually tends to be invisible? I have sudden suspicion that it’ll be her.

Wow. It’s once again not backstabbing Sara. It’s Maribel who leaves tonight. Now I’m absolutely certain Sara is a “plant”, given the bullshit she told Chef Ramsay - that she’s responsible for the dynamics of the team, for bringing them together. Only a totally clueless head-up-arse person, or an actor, could have said that with a straight face, given the crap Sara has been pulling since the beginning of the series.
