Hell’s Kitchen Season 2 Show 4

Last week on Hell’s Kitchen Season 2 Show 3, Giacomo the pizza cook was
eliminated. My pick for elimination tonight is Sara. My bet on the winner for this season is Heather, 25, who showed her take-charge attitude - something that’s a must for a head chef. And she’s experienced and very level-headed. But I’ve witnessed that young male line cooks tend not to respect women chefs. She’s quite young to be running a Las Vegas restaurant, which is the prize.

Tom, a former stockbroker, seems to have the most experience on the guys team, but besides being in his early 40s, he’s out of shape, as his profuse sweating shows. Despite his mistakes and sweating, he’s actually pretty calm and takes Ramsay’s insults in stride.

The guys team has lost 3 players. The girls only lost Polly, the caterer. So what does Chef Ramsay do? He makes Heather the team leader for the guys!! What a move. Heather doesn’t like Tom. Neither do the two other guys. But these two, Keith and the jailbird chef Garrett, are the epitome of conniving line cooks, and they really have it in for Tom. They claim they have to show Tom how to cook.

Putting Heather in charge of the guys will actually protect Tom. She will outshine the guys and be selected team leader at the end of the night. She’ll find out how conniving Keith and Garrett are, and realize that Tom has some value, despite her arguments with him earlier. That’s my hypothesis. And as I’m writing this as I watch episode 4 of Season 2, I’ll find out if I’m right in about an hour. Meanwhile, here’s a play-by-play.

So far, my bet that Sara will be eliminated might hold. The first customers are a children for a pizza party, and Sara cut her finger cutting pizza. Then she bitched about how people weren’t giving her her space. Heather, on the other hand, scored a first victory for the Blue team (formerly the guys team) by keeping the boys from fighting. Albeit, they lost by only 0.01 points. This just shows that they guys cannot win if they keep fighting and backstabbing.

Rachel, the oldest with the southern drawl, seems to have her act together. Unfortunately, Chef Ramsay hates her risotto, which is piled up with a mold. Still, Ramsay is not as angry today, and he actually likes Garrett’s second attempt at some entree. Unfortunately, someone sends back their cold spaghetti a few minutes later and Garrett is disheartened.

Meanwhile, Sara is sabotaging her team, and snickering as Ramsay chews out Virginia. Sara is total b*tch, and by no means a team player. Meribel, though, has escaped his wrath so far. At least until Ramsay sees her pasty mash potatoes.

Tom’s in trouble again. First, his quail isn’t ready, despite the ticket  being called an hour ago. Then his Beef Wellington isn’t ready, and then his pan catches on fire. Deja Vu. His pan was on fire in a previous shows.

Rachel’s been sent out to get ice. She gets to the store and realizes she doesn’t have any money. So she gets on her knees and begs another customer to pay for her ice. Outside, while running, she falls down and one bag splits open.

When Virginia’s Wellington is all screwed up, Chef Ramsay is back to his disagreeable self, screaming and carrying on, then calling Tom a fat f*ck and forcefully throwing his apron and towel at Tom. The service is over. Both teams have to nominate someone to go home.

Back in the dorms, Virginia calls Sara passive-aggressive. On the Blue team, Sara has it in for Tom. I was wrong. Sara took a liking to Keith. Ramsay called him the bright spot of the team. This backstabber. Speaking backstabbers, Ramsay said the same thing about Sara. Ha ha!

Tom is in fact nominated from the Blue team to be gotten rid of. Virginia is nominated from the Red team. Chef is suprised, wondering why it isn’t Rachel, who he says had her worse service. But Rachel stayed level-headed, despite the terrible time she had.

I was wrong. Sara the backstabbing, non-team player did not go. It was Tom, my second choice. Ramsay says “he has a really big heart, but a crap cook. Why he ever attempted to become a chef, I’ll never [know].” Tom’s parting words are that now he has to find a job. “Can you give me a reference, chef?” Hypothetically, and not directly to Chef Ramsay. Can you imagine being humiliated as much as Tom and then trying to go back into the restaurant industry to find work? Tom, you should’ve stuck to stock trader; it’s less stressful than working in a kitchen full of conniving, backstabbing asswipes.
