Bitesize 30 - Kitchens For Those Who Have Everything

The Times Online UK writes about the McNally family, who have been making furniture in north County Dublin for over 40 years and fitting kitchens for 30. They’re now a distributor for German kitchen manufacturer Alno. The Alno-brand luxury kitchens (US website) that they install go for “between €25,000 and €100,000.” (€1 = one euro =~ US$1.277) Talk about a silver spoon.

Being half-crow myself and liking shiny things, I like the Alnoclou kitchen the best of the eight examples that are shown on the Alno website. Alno also has a series of Picture Line kitchens which have a variety of images stencilled onto the cabinetry. Some of them are interesting but the Skin Line have got to be the tackest kitchen-related products I’ve ever seen.

The Alno website also has 3D kitchen planner software that you can download. The program is 16.6 Mb, only runs on Windows (98SE, ME, 2000, XP, x64) computers, and takes about 60 Mb of free space on your hard drive. There is no support for the software.
