- Don't drink water; this opens up your taste buds, which makes whatever you are eating even hotter.
- Do have a piece of white bread or some yogurt or sour cream on hand to dampen the burn.
- Don't drink milk with hot sauce. The milk will break down from the chile and get glue-y. (It also happens when you have milk with some meats such as steak.)
- Don't eat a raw chile pepper on an empty stomach. You'll hate yourself and regret it severely.
- Do add fresh cut tomatoes (cooled in the fridge) and onions to whatever you are eating to add a refreshing contrast to the heat.
